Our Multimate community comprises people from different countries in Africa living together as one big family in BT campus. The diversity created by the convergence of different cultures give rise to various degrees of curiosity. Mi AMiGo (a spanish phrase which means “My Friend”) on the one part, is our social interaction and networking session which takes place in carefully chosen locations designed to provide a cascading atmosphere of serenity to help students learn about a different country, different culture, different political, economic and social history of their Mi AMiGo. As a result, the students get to befriend each other, discover their personalities and establish good friendship and camaraderie culminating in the forging of very strong bonds. The aftermath effect is the gratifying appreciation of the concept of diversity seen as a tool for societal integration and development of the African Continent.
On the other part, it serves as a tourist discovery program where students criss-cross the length and breadth of Ghana, learning about geographical and historical landmarks bequeathed to us by the early men who lived in the period preceding the age of modernity. It also affords students the rare privileged opportunity to treat themselves to the rich fauna and flora patches scattered along the geographical surface of Ghana. In the end there is the creation of an intellectually charged atmosphere which enhances the profound understanding of one’s Personality, Place and Race.
